9 Dutch Hip Hop artists that you'll love if you love Hip Hop

in #hiphop7 years ago

Hip Hop has changed alot over the years. The beats, rappers, producers, sounds effects, lyrics, everything has changed. It has continued to grow over the years and you could even say that it is at an all time high nowadays.

As a big Hip Hop fan from Belgium, I hear a lot of Dutch Hip Hop on a daily basis. Now for foreigners, it is a lot less known. But mark my words, you guys are missing out. That’s why I’m making this list of all the biggest Dutch rappers in 2017 and which tracks you should check out this moment. You’ll be able to have the freshest music, even better than all your friends’ music.

Josylvio
Since I was young I was a big fan of Biggie Smalls. I loved the way he could flow for days. And that is exactly what I found again when I listened to Josylvio. Don’t believe me? Check out his hit songs ‘Westside’, ‘Abu Dhabi’ and ‘Betaal Mij’ (which means “pay me” in Dutch).

Boef
One year ago, Boef just started out and didn’t have that much fans. Nowadays he is The number 1 biggest rapper in Holland. In one year, he took over the whole rap scene and made himself the most known in the whole rap game. Every kid knows his lyrics and a lot of adults listen to him also. His artist name, Boef, means crook/villain in Dutch.

If you like hard Hip Hop music and nice play of words, check out ‘Hosselen’, ‘Paperchase’ or his ‘Range Sessie’.

Yung Internet
You know the moment when you’re just chilling with your homies and listen to chilled out Hip Hop music? Well next time, listen some Yung Internet to make the moment even better. Yung Internet consists of 3 guys who make awesome chilled out rap music with amazing beats and a really fun vibe. They have everying: chill music, turn up, dance music, hard Hip Hop, etc. Check out their big hits ‘1 Affoe x 2’, ‘De binnenstad’ or ‘Van m’n leven niet’ and you’ll never forget how good these guys are.

Sevn Alias
If you like good fast trap beats, fun lyrics and some good punch lines, check out Sevn Alias. This man exploded in the Dutch rap scene and this isn’t thanks to luck. He’s collaborated with a lot of big artist (also some from this list) and he makes really good music. Check out his big hits ‘Gass’, ‘Money Like We’, ‘Mowgli’, ‘Nachtmerrie’ and ‘Qifesh’. Once you listen to Sevn, you never go back.

Kevin
This one is a little different, but he’s also one of the biggest Dutch rappers in 2017. A young white man from nowhere, Kevin earned a lot of respect from the game and has managed to have collabs with a lot of the biggest rappers. Check out his hits ‘Waarom’ (which means ‘why’ in English), ‘Money Like We’ or ‘Wazig’. He’s a chill rapper to listen when you just want to listen to quality Hip Hop music.

Lijpe
Now here is a rapper that is in my personal top 3. I love Lijpe’s music, simply because it’s always a hard track with a good solid beat, some hard spitting and an angry Lijpe. When he released his latest album, people just couldn’t get enough. Check out his biggest hits ‘Jackpot’, ‘Eng’, ‘Accepteren’ if you’re looking for some really hard tracks, or check out ‘Dagen Vliegen Voorbij’ (days fly by) or ‘Geen Stress’ if you want some quality chill out songs.

Lil Kleine
This one is a little different than the other rappers on this list. Last summer, he released a track called ‘Drank en Drugs’ (booze and drugs) featuring Ronnie Flex and he just exploded in popularity. If you’re looking for some nice Hip Hop combined with fun House beats, check this guy out. His biggest tracks ‘Vakantie’, ‘Alleen’ or ‘Weejow’ with Boef are all good solid tracks. And if you want a fun album to listen, check out his WOP album.

Ronnie Flex
Ronnie is also in my top 3, but he’s even more different from the other rappers than Lil Kleine. He makes fun music filled with funny lyrics, amusing beats and killer flow. He has hard tracks, soft tracks, mellow tracks and love tracks. This guy has it all. If you’re having a bad day, just listen to some Ronnie Flex and everything will be okay. But for now, check out his albums but start by checking out these songs.

Yung Nnelg
Last but not least, check out Yung Nnelg. He’s not that famous yet, but he has the potential of becoming of one the biggest turn up trap rappers in Holland. I’ve seen him live and goddamn, he earned a spot in my heart. Check out his tracks ‘Forrest Gump’, ‘Hoofdprijs’ and ‘Voor Je Love’, you won’t regret it.

There you have it, 9 young and successful Dutch rappers. You may not understand everything, but if you love Hip Hop, you’ll love these rappers also.

Peace out,

Ludy
