Colouring the papier mache angels

 

It was few years ago when I did couple of papier-mache angels, I remember it was time of Easter and I juts wanted some decoration and these figures I found in Internet and it was something I always wanted to try. By the way that time I do not have many different colours and for painting only acrylic was the best choice. I has only these funny pink-violet that was a bit boring but it was only these colour available and I simple took them.

 

 

All my three angels were on shelf for few years and with time the colour of paint started to pale off and maybe some of them had dust on the surface too. That is why it was looking even more pale but also slightly boring. That is why I recently ordered some acrylic paints and decided to choose primary colours red, yellow and blue. You actually can mix primary colours and create one more colour that is called secondary colour.

So this time I had of course, my angels already with their wings and that is why I had to be very careful with colouring so that I do not spoil any part with colours.

So I decided to start with wings and made them mixing yellow and white. That brought nice light but also yellow warm colour I thought it will be then looking more like wings.

 

 

So once we had wings ready, I started with faces and hair, that I decided to leave the same brown colour and face slight pinkish that I made mixing white red and a bit of yellow.

The final stage was to colour the dresses and of course, my colours are red, blue and green. I hope you also like them. At least they look better than before. That was my creation today.
