The diary game. From Morning Prayers to Orchard Duties: A Day of Devotion, Hard Work, and Meaningful Encounters
Hello, dear friends! How is everyone doing? I hope you are all well and enjoying your time with your loved ones, no matter where you are. Today, I want to share another day of my life with you all. I hope you find some time to read my post and that you find it enjoyable enough to upvote.
The sun had just started rising above the horizon, and the chirping of the birds made me uncomfortable in bed. I quickly got up, performed ablution, and then went to offer the morning prayers at the nearby mosque. It’s an obligation to start our day with morning prayer, and only after making supplications, I headed back to my place to do some gardening. I did gardening for a while and then went for a walk towards the orchard. I broke some sweat and helped myself stay fit by burning excess calories, and this early walk helps me stay positive and agile throughout the day.
Only after I was done with the walk, I returned home, and after taking a hot shower, I joined my parents in the dining room, where they were already waiting for me. It was already late, but I quickly had my breakfast and then got ready for office. Today, I had planned to spend only half a day at the office and then return home because of some important work.
I left my place at around 9:45 AM and reached the office within half an hour. I straightaway dived into my routine work of digitising revenue records that are actually written in Urdu and need to be digitised, so people can access these records without going through the hassle of asking revenue officials and standing in queues for days. The digitisation is quite a job and needs to be done meticulously, because any error in the data can lead to re-entering everything, which annoys me a lot. For that reason, I stay very careful while filling in the data on the portal.
The portal had some issues, as it is in the beta stage right now. It signs out frequently, and sometimes it works very slowly, making it quite a time-consuming job. In the afternoon, I returned home and, after having my lunch, I left to join my uncles in their orchard, where they were going to distribute a special food package to people passing by. For that, they had prepared a feast, which we call Tahar, celebrated especially on special occasions and to ward off evil eyes. As they were going to harvest their crop, they began the day by distributing food to people who would pass by.
I went there to help them, and I actually took on some major tasks. It took me a good amount of time, and it was around 5 PM when we started distributing the food. The distribution took a lot of time, as not many people passed by, and for that reason, I had to wait on the roadside for long to finish. It was quite a tiring job, as I was standing the entire time, chasing vehicles with food packets in my hands, distributing them, and making sure I gave sufficient food to everyone who asked.
I had a good time out in the orchard, as I breathed in some fresh air and gained some experience from the people—especially the labourers who work there and have a lot of experience in gardening and other horticulture-related activities. I took some photographs of the apple trees, which I have shared here with you.
I returned home late and hadn’t anticipated such a delay. My mother wasn’t happy with me at all and didn’t let me enter the house without telling her where I had been. Later in the evening, I had to bring milk from my uncle’s house and also some items from the main market of the village. While I was out, I met my friends and we chatted for about an hour. It was around 9:15 PM when I returned home. Only after having my dinner did I go to my room, scroll through social media, and chat for a while. After watching some reels on Instagram, I went to sleep at around 11:45 PM.
Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
