Hairy flower

I nearly missed these flowers as I was hiking out of a forest into a meadow. I'm glad that I was walking slowly, so that I saw them. Tolmie's mariposa lily(Calochortus tolmiei) is a small, hairy flower with petals ranging from white to purple in color. Notice the purple anthers in this example as well.
