Lake Blanche Hike, Cottonwood Heights, UT
About a couple weeks ago I went on a hike with my fiancee up in Little Cottonwood Canyon in Cottonwood Heights, UT and I figured I'd take a few photos and write a post about it. For the most part it was a pretty average hike, though by about the half way point I was wishing for it to be done! Definitely need to go on many more hikes before the weather gets too nasty and cold and I'll do my best to get some good photos and post them on here.
At the base of the hike we followed a home made trail off the original trail following the river and ended having to double back. Got a few nice sights, but eventually it just got way too crazy for us to keep going.
We kept running into many overlooks like the one below and took some breaks while looking at the gorgeous view.
Absolutely worth the climb up for the view at the top as well as all the fresh mountain air and exercise. We even saw a glimpse of a deer running across the trail in front of a couple that was hiking behind us!
We didn't come nearly prepared enough though because we ran out of water well before we reached the top. We took a little detour to try to find a waterfall we heard in the distance to maybe fill up our water bottles and use my fiancee's life straw to get a drink. Always the best and most satisfying water I've ever had to drink come from the mountains we hike up here.
Definitely one of my favorite hikes! Heheh That deers face was so adorable!
Same! Everything looked so gorgeous and the sights changed so much on the way up.
Beautiful topography. Especially the one with the lake. So lovely. Thanks for sharing @kaylinart :)
