RE: Some Guys Should Stop Thinking Girls Are Interested In Them Just Because They Talked Once

in #hello5 years ago (edited)

So what makes the guys think we are interested in them just because we talk to them?

It all boils down to evolutionary psychology and how men and women have evolved with pretty much opposite mating strategies. You know, men "throwing their seeds everywhere", whereas women have to be careful with sexual intercourse because it can be highly costly to them - not as much anynore of course because of birth control, however, the old evolutionary mechanisms are still there. Basically, men are like smoke detectors: more false positives than real positives. But if even 1 in a 100 proves to be right, well, it is a beneficiary trait - in evolutionary terms, and will move on to the next generation. Now, this doesn't mean it justifies any shitty behavior from your friends who are clearly very immature and can't just talk these things out in a civilized manner.

People might not like what I'm saying here, especially amongst hyper-progressive climate where biological gender is a social construct, but these things must be understood so that genders can reach harmony, otherwise these misunderstandings keep happening without anyone understanding why, thinking that the opposite representatives are just assholes for the sake of it.

:O woah that detailed explanation. That makes sense! Not all men do that though, but most desperates that I know do. I have also read in a study before that men are more aggressive with decision-making, even though there's small chance of winning: whereas women tend to be very careful, slowly but surely. This applies to decision-making in general and not just in love. You just reminded me of what I've studied before that I forgot now lol thank you for that explanation! :D

Yeah, that unfortunately happens sometimes when other attraction attempts have failed.

I read a whole book about that stuff – it was really interesting! You're welcome :D
