Ascaris
Ascaris is a typical roundworm or nematode. It is cylindrical in shape and is pointed at both ends. They can be pink or white in color and can be 30cm or more in length. They have separate sexes but resembles each other in external appearance.
The male can be distinguished by a characteristic coiling of the posterior end. Ascaris lives as a parasite in the alimentary canal of man and apes. They are in the small intestine and sometimes can be passed out as faeces.
