to kill a mockingbird
The impressive Pulitzer Award winner(1961) book of Harper Lee that I have been reading recently. Although the author considers it to be a simple love story, this little regional story of Alabama girl takes us through the roots of human behaviour and psychology-kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, the perspectives on racism, sexism, marriage, education and social American values of the time. It turned into an American classic and has been studied in several literature classes.
The book can be read in over 40 languages and if you are not a reading type of person, you can also watch the Academy-Award movie which was also a classic.
