Although it is a major European capital it does not get the number of tourists it deserves, which is a real shame, because it has plenty to offer. The thousand year old Upper Town contains the Presidential Palace, the iconic St Marks Catholic Cathedral, the Croatian Parliament, and museums and galleries which are all set in cobbled streets lit by gas lamps. Zagreb is also called a city of museums as there are more of them per square foot than any other city in the world. It is also a very safe and friendly city where the Irish always get a very warm welcome. You will be pleased that it is also very reasonable for shopping and eating out. The Irish have already
