RE: FDA Kills Millions & Takes Years Off Your Life - Dr Mary Ruwart

in #health7 years ago

Of course we can't place any of the blame on the sue happy individuals who reek millions in jury awards as a cause for all the regulation. These people slap lawsuits on everyone from the developer to the FDA that said a drug was just fine to use only to find out that one size doesn't fit all. A drug may have a more severe effect on someone who has illnesses other than what their current condition is being prescribed for. This is why studies have to be done on varied groups showing long and short term effects if any. Like aspirin, they came out and said hey everybody if you take a aspirin a day it has a positive health benefit....only to find out later that isn't necessarily so....how they found that out was further studies after people started having side effects from taking aspirin. They are finding out now that some of the PPI drugs on the market for antacid if taken everyday is causing kidney failure in otherwise healthy individuals...so now you wonder how other healthy individuals weren't affected this way...what makes some have serious side effects while others don't. When drugs get put out there there is no guarantee that they will be safe for everybody no matter how healthy a individual may be and through release to the general public and further long term study on a more varied group of individuals and finding negative results gives them pause to study the effects on more people before releasing.
