Sitting too long increases the risk of early death

in #health7 years ago

A recent study has revealed that sitting too long harms the brain. The general health is also threatened.
The disadvantages of the sitting position

The sitting position is not good for the brain. According to a latest study, sitting too long affects the supply of the brain and its health may be threatened. The brain, very rich in glucose, requires 20% of our energy needs at rest. A decrease of the reserve can then damage cells in the brain. Moreover, glycemic variability important is able to lead to a decrease of the cognitive functions. In the long term, sitting too long increases the risk of early death.

Come up more often

In addition to the rigorous control of glucose, the ideal solution to maintain their brain is to get up more often in the day. After the meal, practice a walk at a low intensity is mainly on glycemic control. And for good reason : muscles in action spend a portion of the glucose present in our system. The physical activities keep you at an optimal rate. Some researchers recommend physical activity of low intensity, but spread out over the entire day rather than a short effort practiced in the morning.

Permanent challenge for scientists

Scientists are facing a real challenge in terms of the link between the sitting and the altered functions of the brain. According to the studies carried out up here, the more a person sits, the more his cognitive functions slow down. In the expectation of concrete data, it is strongly advised to sit in the less time as possible especially after meals. Please do not hesitate to take all opportunities to stay up doing the dishes after dinner, or walking or cycling to work.

Very good advice and excellent suggestions . Only thing I would add is to keep music playing all the time. It keeps you moving automatically. Peace.
