The go-to plant in emergencies is plantain. It looks like this:
Draws out pus and helps heal the infected area.
When I was a little girl I would fall down and scrape my knees awfully bad. My mom would pluck these plantain leaves put them on my knees and wrap up my poor sore knees. After I took the wrap off my knees in the morning I could see pus oozing out it and it was gross!! My mom would clean my knees up and reapply plantain leaves and rewrap them and repeat it for a few days or until the next scrape knee. As a kid, I couldn’t care less but I remember the pus that these leaves pulled out. Plantain is a good drawing plant to get out infections and pus and all that other gross stuff at the same time it heals you.
Uses of Plantain
I have used theses leaves to help get rid of my psoriasis, help my skin; my hair was falling out rapidly due to my illness. I made plantain oil and added cayenne pepper, and bees wax to the oil and I added just a dab every time my hair was wet and it made my hair softer, stronger and my hair grows really fast.
It is used as a topical for cuts, bruises and other fist aid home remedies. I used the leaves on my kids too. I know they work and they are readily available.
To use: just pluck the leaves from the ground, wash and apply and wrap for most applications. Or you can chew them first before applying this helps to extract the plants benefits. If you are not into chewing them try this: roll the leaves in a ziplock bag to extract the juices and then apply to wound. Just wrapping your wound helps in extracting the benefits.
I also make plantain oil and then I make my own creams, salve. I will write other articles about how simple it is to make your own oil and how simple it is to make your own cream and salves.
Plantain being a very versatile plant could help in emergencies. Plantain can be used for survival and first aid. Nature provides us with natural remedies.
