Almonds - known as botanical name Prunis dulcis. The almonds contain selicin, the substance from which salicylic acid is prepared. Selicin is the main painkiller in aspirin. And we all know what aspirin is for. Eating a handful of almonds a day is equivalent to consuming natural aspirin.
