RE: Food Supplements #5: Sulforaphane. Curing cancer with broccholi?

in #health6 years ago

I first heard about sulforaphane listening to Dr. Rhonda Patrick on the Joe Rogan podcast. Broccoli sprouts are great, but a little expensive. My consumption of them is a bit spotty though mostly because I am not 100% sure about the claims and the research yet.

I also heard that vitamins and micronutrients are helpful for lowering cancer risk but once you do develop cancer you should fast (at least for some types of cancer).

I am a bit confused as to the reason why but my layman's understanding is that they are not as robust as normal cells and die off sooner, I guess?

thanks for commenting.

Imo, you should do nothing radical without professional medical counsel if you have cancer.
I heard about the effects of fasting, I think the theory behind this is that the body then consumes tissue he doesn't need, including tumor tissue. But I don't know how well established that is, and if it works for every kind of tumor.
