Benefits of Green Coffee
This article is for information only and doesn't call for any action.
While traditional black coffee is made from roasted coffee beans, green coffee beverages are made using the unroasted, or “green,” coffee beans. Extracts from green coffee beans have demonstrated many health benefits in scientific studies. The main components of green coffee responsible for these benefits appear to be caffeine and chlorogenic acid, a type of antioxidant, although some effects are influenced by factors other than these compounds.
Potential Weight Loss
How I lost extra pounds
According to a study published in March 2006 in “BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine,” daily supplementation of an extract prepared from green coffee beans reduced body fat and body weight in mice, as well as fat composition in the liver. The effect was similar in mice supplemented with isolated chlorogenic acids and caffeine, which suggests that these are the compounds responsible for the effect. Chlorogenic acids found in green coffee can be digested and absorbed by humans, which implies a similar availability as the extract.
Reduction of High Blood Pressure
In addition to its effects on promoting weight loss, chlorogenic acids in green coffee can reduce blood pressure. According to a study published in 2006 in “Clinical and Experimental Hypertension,” patients supplemented with 140 milligrams of green coffee bean extract per day demonstrated reduced blood pressure throughout the study. No side effects were reported, which suggests that green coffee is a safe way to help reduce high blood pressure.
Improved Mood and Cognitive Performance
The caffeine found in green coffee has a positive effect on your mood and brain activity. According to a review published in February 2008 in “Nutrition Bulletin,” several studies have confirmed that caffeine can improve reaction time, vigilance, memory, alertness, focus, fatigue resistance and other factors of cognitive performance. Reviewers found the optimal intake of green coffee to be between 38 to 400 milligrams per day, or between approximately 1/3 cup to four cups of brewed coffee.
Benefits From Antioxidants
Green coffee beans and their derived products contain multiple antioxidants, which are compounds that reduce the effects of cell-damaging free radicals in the body. This preventative function keeps you healthier by reducing the amount of damage and stress your cells can take. According to a study published in July 2004 in the “Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry,” chlorogenic acid antioxidants in green coffee beans could prevent the proliferation of four kinds of cancer cells, suggesting green coffee may be useful in preventing some types of cancer.
Green coffee beans have become increasingly popular as of late, in fact, they’re now one of the most popular supplements and weight loss products around. They’ve also been associated with a host of health benefits, from protecting the heart and lowering the risk of neurological diseases, to anti-aging effects and more.
These green-hued beans are roasted seeds of the plant Coffea Arabica. During roasting, the natural antioxidants present in the coffee beans are removed, which is not at all beneficial for our health, but these beans do not undergo that same procedure and are actually considered as highly beneficial for our overall health, in addition to helping to support weight loss efforts.
While there is some debate as to whether the benefits are worth risking the side effects, which we’ll discuss a bit later, there is evidence to believe green coffee may be very beneficial for those who can tolerate caffeine.
The Downsides Of Green Coffee Beans:
While green coffee beans have a long list of scientifically documented benefits, that doesn’t mean it’s for everyone. And, if you plan on using it to help you lose weight, it’s unlikely to make much of a difference unless you’ve also made some major lifestyle changes, like getting regular exercise, 7 to 8 hours of quality rest each night, following stress reduction practices and consuming a healthy diet.
Another issue to consider is that there is no standardization when it comes to supplements. That means that manufacturers don’t have to follow a specific formula, so one green coffee extract product could be made completely differently than another, and one brand might contain a lot more caffeine than the bottle next to it. Using supplements that contain caffeine and then stopping them has also been linked to withdrawal symptoms like a headache, fatigue, depression, trouble concentrating, nervousness and muscle tension.
I tried this method of weight loss by myself. I tried this last month and my stomach has already flattened! They told me "Try it once and belly and hips won't go back!" I didn't believed that first, even now I cannot believe what I see in the mirror, but in fact I exchanged my belly on cubes. After only two weeks, the results were stunning, despite I continued eating everything I wanted! It is loudly said maybe, but method is really good and safe if not to mindlessly go far, so i can totally recommend it to everyone. Oh, did i mentioned about hard working in gym? Of course this method is superb, but only in addition to workouts! Stop dreaming about a perfect body! Just get it!!
