A New way to Approach to Asperger Syndrome
Hello Steemers! I want to leave you a small publication on one of the topics that has caught my attention for some time. This topic is known as "The Asperger Syndrome"
I do not want to repeat what you see in pages and pages all over the internet. Basically they tend to repeat the same thing, leaving with them questions and certain voids about what underlies this so-called syndrome.
Asperger was discovered by the pediatrician, researcher, psychiatrist and professor of medicine of Austrian origin Hans Asperger. Here's why the name of this syndrome is Asperger.
After investigations that realized in 1944, he discovered that there were children who shared certain similarities to the well-known Autism but it was not about autism.
Then, with the passage of the years in the denomination of the approximate phrase of "Child Psychopathy" and "Little Teachers"
Now, what is this Asperger Syndrome about?
Asperger's Syndrome is derived from Wikipedia "a set of mental and behavioral characteristics that is part of autism spectrum disorders. It falls within the generalized disorders of development (ICD-10, Chapter V, F84). Shows difficulties of varying severity in social interaction and communication, as well as activities and interests in areas that are often very restricted and in many cases stereotypes "
Over the years, more studies on Asperger's Syndrome have been made and the findings are incomplete. For example, many of the characteristics or symptoms of this so-called syndrome are characteristic of children who, if left untreated, can continue and worsen over the years. It is necessary to take into account that the Asperger is not a disease or delay as I did to know an ignorant Psychologist in my community to which I asked for pure curiosity.
In the case of girls, who become women, the characteristics of the Asperger are implicit and do not tend to share the same characteristics of the children. This results in that many of these girls spend years without being labeled with the Asperger's making their lives a real hell precisely because of the serious problems of socialization they possess without leaving out that they can diagnose them with another pathology.
The causes of the Asperger are still unknown and they are always with the person who are the most they can learn to deal with these characteristics making their lives bearable and even achieve their autonomy and personal and professional independence
In one word of Lorna Wing, another of the Asperger's prosecutors mentioned in one of her interviews in 2005 that "I feel it is safer to use the spectrum of autism because it is based on the only constant thing: problems with instinct We have to see each child as an individual, to help them we have to understand all their particular abilities, difficulties, behaviors and emotions"
Currently Tony Attwood is a medical clinician recognized worldwide for the years he has delivered to give a new horizon with regard to ASPERGER in children, adolescents and adults.
One of the things that this researcher has made clear is that you have to see the person under that individuality when giving the correct diagnosis of the asperger, because the characteristics that make it can vary from light to severe depending on the person.
It is also very important to tell them when you give that diagnosis: "Congratulations, you are Asperger" instead of telling you that you have Asperger's Syndrome as it is neither disease nor mental retardation.
