Previously, fatty liver was associated with alcohol consumption in large quantities, however nowadays more and more experts associate an increase in people with this disease with high levels of obesity, cholesterol and triglycerides.

In summary, one of the most common causes of fatty liver is the consumption of alcohol. But the causes of nonalcoholic hepatic steatosis are: overweight and obesity, type 2 diabetes, since insulin resistance causes a buildup of fat in the liver.
