Those of us who sit in front of a computer all day or night long rarely realize the importance of the vital organ that we use to perform our daily tasks. It our eyes! A very delicate organ of the body probably which we overuse in these days of computerization.
The most common ailments due to gazing at the computer screen are :

- Double vision
- Dry eye
- Irritation which is increased by rubbing eyes
- Headaches

But in general all of them are categorized as 'Computer Vision Syndrome'.All of the above are caused due to the brightness of screen, colours, contrast etc to which our eyes need to constantly adjust while working. This is highly stressfull although unavoidable now.
You can easily avoid/reduce the above symptoms by doing the following:

- Keep blinking a lot while working in front of acomputer
- Drink a lot of water as our eyes tend to dry up a lot while doing computer work
- Use computers which emit lesser radiation
- If your day has been very stressful then take some cotton soaked in rose water, close your eyes and place it on your eyelids. It gives a very soothing effect.
- Frequent eye checkups are a must as we are constantly frying our eyes.
- A good working posture will go a long way in reducing strain in your work.
