~Parsley Lemon Ginger Water~

Herbal waters are an easy and simple way to make a juice on a daily basis for people on a tight schedule! All you need is a higher speed blender. A juicer is not necessary, but would work perfect as well.

You will need:

~ A large handful of parsley ~ Organic if possible
~ One large thumb of ginger ~ More or less depending how much of a spicy kick you want. I personally love a ton of ginger!
~ Juice of one or two lemons
~ A strainer
~ High Speed Blender or Juicer

In a high speed blender add your parsley, ginger, and juice of lemons. Add approximately 2 to 3 cups of water and blend on high for about 10 seconds or until ingredients are finely blended. Then transfer your liquid into a bowl or container that will fit a strainer on top. Strain your liquid and compost the excess vegetable pulp left in the strainer. You can also save your pulp for other raw recipes if you want to get creative! You can add more water if desired. If you are using a juicer you will need to add water to your concentrated juice.

Some people may be hesitant about the taste of this simple beverage, but to me it feels refreshing and alkalizing! If you want a sweeter taste try adding some green apple. This may help you get used to the taste of the greens.

Why These Ingredients?

~ Parsley ~

It's an amazing herb! I personally can find it organic all year round at my local health food shop and Whole Foods. It is a fairly cheap and easy alkalizing herb to get into your system even in the cold months. Parsley is a powerhouse in aiding the kidneys waste removal system! It helps with uti's, kidney stones, gallbladder stones. Parsley also helps remove edema and inflammation. Ultimately it is an alkalizing powerhouse. As humans we need to stay on the alkaline side of life in order for our bodies to healthfully thrive. Most SAD (Standard American Diets) produce acidic environments in the body. A more acidic ph makes the body prone to dehydration, inflammation, parasitic and fungal issues and disease.

~ Ginger ~

Lovvvvvveee! I add it to many of my juices and dressings for yummy flavor and its great health benefits! For most of my life I have suffered from digestive discomfort. When I went vegan a lot of my issues went away from eliminating meat and dairy. The more cooked foods and processed foods I consume the worse my digestion gets. Being fully raw is the only way I am free of constant bloating, aching, ulcer like pain, and an overall slow, sluggish system. But back to ginger! Its amazing! It eases stomach discomfort like no other. If I am having a pain in my stomach, it seems to really calm my system down. Ginger is also beneficial for those suffering from degenerative disease such as cancer. There are studies declaring ginger 'to be 10,000 times more effective at killing cancer stem cells than conventional chemotherapy!' (You can find this info through a google search) Basically I think ginger is awesome. Tastes great. You can't really go wrong. I like fresh raw organic ginger the best. I don't really like powders. The more raw the better:)

~ Lemons ~

Lemons are life. I don't think I go a day without them. You can add them to anything and everything. I think they give all juices a great taste! Extremely alkalizing. Lemons will aid in moving the lymph in the lymphatic system. This will aid in the detox process of your eliminative organs, especially the liver and kidneys! I feel my best when I am hydrated and lemons (citrus in general) help the body cleanse so that you can feel more mentally and physically clear.
