STRESS RELIEF AND OVERTIME

Do you know anyone who isn't at times stressed out these days?. The pace of modern life makes stress management a necessary skill for everyone. Many people juggle multiple responsibilities like work, home life, care giving and relationships. Learning to identify problems and implement solutions is the key to successful stress reduction.

  • The first step in successful stress relief is deciding to make a change in how you manage stress.
  • Secondly, identify your stress triggers. The causes of your stress might be so obvious such as job pressures, relationship problems, financial difficulties, over commitment at work can also contribute to your level of stress. If you get married, started a new job and bought a new house in the same year you could have a high level of stress but negative events in general are more stressful be sure to always access negative changes in your life. Once you've identified your stress triggers, you can start thinking about the strategies for dealing with them. Sometimes though, the solution might be turning off the TV when listening to sad events or news.

  • When you can't avoid a stressful situation, try thinking of ways to reduce the irritation factor and don't feel like you have to figure it out all on your own. Seek help and support from your friends and family, Consider some things to meditate on especially on the word of God and also on nature. Stress wont disappear automatically but with practice, you can learn to manage your level of stress and increase your ability to cope with life's challenges. This bring to the next sub-topic:

OVERTIME AND HOW IT MAY SHORTEN YOUR TIME:

  • Overtime is one of the health risk that causes serious heart problems including heart attacks, this also come along with stress. When you are stressed and it cannot be managed it may lead to heart attack and diseases or possibly death. Working overtime may lead to few or more habits like smoking, drinking, being overweight , high cholesterol and keeping late nights. Your life style can also be deteriorated because of the extra hours you put in probably as a result of poor diet and increase in alcoholic consumption. As an individual, you should be able to balance your work life, stress and your fun time. Make your health a priority and remember HEALTH IS WEALTH.
