The best diabetes diet - or is that? (on the paleolithic diet)

in #health3 years ago

Paleolytic diet or diet paleo for short has been mentioned as a great diet for diabetic patients. Even some have gone as far as saying that it is the best for diabetics. Is this really true? With a myriad of diets out there - some FAD, some don't, it might be really difficult to rate one diet than the other.

A recent review was carried out by a certain group of experts at the Mandate of the US News and the publication of world reports was indeed coming out to say that when it came to the management and prevention of diabetes, two diets came out of the peak together. This is the biggest loser diet and dash diet.

When arriving at the best overall diet, Dash (diet approach to stop the top diet above the list with 4.1 stars from the possibility 5. TLC diet or a change in therapeutic lifestyle, a diet plan made by the National Institutes of Health is second with 4 stars from Five, while the Mayo Clinics, the Mediterranean diet and Weight Watchers are placed with third with 3.9 stars each of the possibilities 5. So where can this paleolithic diet be found in all this? Do you know what a paleolithic diet?

Well, the Paleo diet represents modern human efforts to return to the ancestors' diet based on the premise that this when life with such a diet does not experience many modern diseases we experience today. Diseases such as high blood pressure, strokes, diabetes, heart disease and the like. This fortune has been put into their diet and the hope is that if we want to reverse some of these conditions or at least undergo a healthier lifestyle, then we must also adopt the diet.

This diet will basically be made of lean meat, nuts, seeds and give. This is also known as a paleolithic or caveman diet

Interestingly, some of the studies actually show that the paleolithic diet has a greater positive effect for diabetics for another diet. One example is the 2007 study by Lindeberg in 29 diabetic patients with glucose intolerance or two-type diabetes.

In the study of these individuals were divided into two groups and placed on the Mediterranean or paleolithic diet.

The results showed that even though there was an increase in glucose tolerance in both groups, the increase was far greater in the group on the paleolithic diet. So it was really surprising to find a paleolithic diet that will come on 34 in research conducted by US news and world reports. Is the Paleolithic Diet Best Diet for Diabetics? Certainly not.

But after saying this and just for a diet, it must be noted that other parameters are used in assessing how effective the diet is. This; Short-term weight loss, long-term weight loss, convenience being followed, nutrition, safety, diabetes and heart health. Diet only gets two stars for short-term weight loss, 1.7 stars for long-term weight loss, 1.7 more stars for convenience followed, 2 for nutrition, 2.3 for safety, 2.1 for heart health and 2 for heart health. Because it's a score of 2 overall.

Experts see it as a failure in the completeness of nutrients, because actually limiting all food groups that also make it difficult to follow. Most are equally critical of its costs and their application to lose weight and to prevent or control diabetes and heart disease.

On the other hand the Dukan diet that also gets 2 of the same stars for diabetes parameters doing overall shows that the diet may not be as bad as in the diabetes department but what caused its fall of its performance in other assessment parameters. On the other hand the Mediterranean diet that other studies show the best paleolithic diet, actually the score is better than what is in accordance with this review with 3.4 out of 5 stars for diabetes. Maybe something isn't here.

Further it can be said that the reviews starting on US news orders and world reports are only a review and we have to wait
