Men's Health Reporting, Thursday (26/4/2018), this study was conducted at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, United States. The study is published in the May issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
In this study, people who are overweight 13.6 kilograms (kg) or more should think about reducing their weight if they do not want any serious health problems later on. Including diabetes, heart disease, and stroke, although today they do not have it all.
"The common medical wisdom is that some people who are obese seem to be quite healthy and free from the risk of heart disease, so they have not been advised to lose weight or take other steps to prevent heart disease in the future," says assistant professor of health sciences the community at Wake Forest Baptist and lead author of the study, Morgana Mongraw-Chaffin, PhD.

The study involved 6,809 participants with healthy metabolic obesity or metabolically healthy obesity (MHO). Participants with cardiovascular disease problems were excluded.
They followed the study for 12 years. Every two years, the participants undergo clinical evaluation. Almost half of the participants developed metabolic syndrome during the study.
According to National Blood, the Heart and Lung Institute, the metabolic syndrome increases the risk of developing all kinds of serious health problems, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and stroke.
A study found, 40 percent of cancer has a link with weight. Another study says, obesity kills more people than cigarettes.
