Truth: Vitamins and mineral supplements cannot treat Covid-19
Micronutrients such as vitamin D, vitamin C and zinc are essential to ensuring the good functioning of the immune system, and play a vital role in promoting health and nutritional wellness. There is currently no guidance regarding the use of micronutrient supplements as a treatment for Covid-19.
The organization is coordinating and evaluating efforts to develop drugs to treat COVID-19.
Fact: Studies show that hydroxychloroquine has no clinical benefits in treating Covid-19
Hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine, two treatments for malaria, lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, have been studied as a potential treatment for COVID-19. The current data shows that this drug does not reduce deaths among patients with Covid-19 who are hospitalized, and it does not help people with moderate forms of the disease. * It is accepted that the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine in patients with malaria and autoimmune diseases is generally safe, but its use in Cases for which it is not recommended for and without medical supervision may cause dangerous side effects and should therefore be avoided.
- More conclusive research must be conducted to evaluate its benefit in patients with mild forms of the disease or as a preventive treatment before or after exposure to the virus in people exposed to Covid-19.
Is dexamethasone a treatment for all Covid-19 patients?
Dexamethasone should be given to patients who need it most. It should not be stored.
Patients with mild symptoms did not achieve any improvement in the health status of this drug. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. The administration of a daily dose of dexamethasone of 6 mg for 10 days to some Covid-19 patients on a ventilator led to an improvement in their health.
