This is the famous strawberry mochi from Two Ladies Kitchen in Hilo, Hawaii. My friend sent me a picture of them eating it to make me jealous. If you haven't been to Two Ladies Kitchen in Hilo, it's worth a visit if you like mochi. They offer a variety of flavors and have a variety of original shapes from traditional to non-traditional. You may have to wait in line though as it gets crowded at their small store.
