Below you can find Free-to-Play games recommendations for every genre (with a brief description of the genre).

Real Time Strategy (RTS)
In real-time strategy games, every player starts with a military base and people or vehicles (these are called units). The player also has money or other resources to create new units or to build new buildings. These buildings allow the player to create units or new technologies and upgrades. The goal is to raise an army that destroys the base and the units of the other player(s).

Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG)
The player assumes the role of a character (often in a fantasy world or science-fiction world) and takes control over many of that character's actions (progress by leveling character and advancing the story). Players can interact together, and by the game's world is persistent - continues to exist and evolve while the player is offline and away from the game.

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA)
Part chess and part team sport. It pits two teams in a closed map, with the first team to demolish the enemy’s base declared the winner. Players control a champion, each with distinct strengths and weaknesses. Champions always start the match at level 1 and andvance to the next levels by dealing damage to enemy characters and structures. Success depends on making sure your team has a balanced array of skills and cooperates.

Hero Shooter
Multiplayer arena-based shooters, where players, split among two or more teams, select from pre-designed "hero" characters that each possess unique attributes, skills, weapons, and other passive and active abilities, and try to eliminate opponents led by artificial intelligence or other players. Unlike MOBAs, hero shooters don't feature a level system and damage dealt by champions does not change throughout the match.

First Person Shooter (FPS)
A video game genre centered on gun and other weapon-based combat; the player experiences the action through the eyes of the main character, who usually only sees the characters' hands and weapons. First-person shooters focus on multiplayer game mode but you can also compete with computer-controlled characters called bots.

Battle Royale
Battle royale games involve dozens to hundreds of players, who start with minimal equipment and then must eliminate all other opponents while avoiding being trapped outside of a shrinking "safe area", with the winner being the last player or team alive.

Action Role Playing Game (aRPG)
A variety of role-playing game with real-time combat, where the player has direct control over the characters. Still the character's stats determine relative strength and abilities. Apart from the story, characters, and the lore, the main focus of aRPGs is the loot.

Racing game
The player partakes in a racing competition with any type of land, water, air or space vehicles in the first-person or third-person perspective. They may be based on anything from real-world racing leagues to entirely fantastical settings. In general, they can be distributed along a spectrum anywhere between hardcore simulations, and simpler arcade racing games.

Fighting game
Based around close combat between a limited number of characters, in a stage in which the boundaries are fixed. Each player character has different abilities but each is relatively viable to choose. Players must master techniques such as blocking, counter-attacking, and chaining attacks together into "combos".

Sports game
Video game genre that simulates the practice of sports. Some games emphasize actually playing the sport, whilst others emphasize strategy and sport management.

Sandbox
A sandbox is a style of game in which minimal character limitations are placed on the gamer, allowing the gamer to roam and change a virtual world at will. Gameplay element gives the player a great degree of creativity to complete tasks towards a goal within the game (if such a goal exists at all).

Wargaming
Military-themed team-based game online action games. The player takes control of a single combat vehicle of their choice, controling its movement and firing, and coordinates with allied players. A match is won either by destroying all vehicles on the opposing team or capturing the opposing team's base by staying in it for long enough without being hurt.

Economic simulation
Also known as Tycoons, focus on the management of economic processes, usually in the form of a business. Micromanagement is often emphasized in these kinds of games. The interest in these games lies in accurate simulation of real-world events using algorithms, as well as the close tying of players' actions to expected or plausible consequences and outcomes.

Adventure Game
In adventure games, players usually interact with their environment and other characters to solve puzzles with clues to progress the story or gameplay. Adventure games rarely involve any traditional video game action elements. Visual novels (sub-genre of adventure games) apart from solving puzzles require players to build up character traits or statistics to advance the gameplay

Trading Card Game (TCG)
Card game that mixes strategic deck building elements with features of trading cards. Decks can be changed and upgraded to increase your chances of winning. Building a stronger deck usually requires rare and well-matched perks.
