RE: Real World cost from the Hard Fork 2.whatever!

in #hard-fork7 years ago

I have not left, but my faith is badly shaken. I have a website, but it is business use www.smithlabs.us that I wrote myself, what do you think?

I really jumped off the cliff on the hardware, but with 12 Tb of storage, and 3Tb for OS, I will find a good use for it. I may set up a solar blog of my own, or one for herbal use. Or both.

I have been left adrift by this change, they have broken the faith....

I just looked at the site and its simple enough and functional. You've got a couple of spelling mistakes in the front page though - "medical equipment" in 3rd paragraph and "discuss your specific need" at the end.

Maybe focus more specifically on what industry you're looking to provide services to as it was a little vague. Is it aerospace, automotive? Looks like you are talking about lean manufacturing and improving process efficiency as well?

These are just my thoughts but you are obviously doing well with all the projects you have worked on. Maybe have testimonials or case studies too if you can show off your work.

Yea I think it has been really poorly done this upgrade but I hope things will stabalise in the next couple of days as everyone gets used to the new RC and way things work.

I was very confused by the spelling, until I saw where you are based. We spell slightly differently here. Butchering the Kings English, so to speak....

The vagueness is deliberate, since I get called in when disaster strikes; as the industries vary a LOT. Testimonials is a good idea, where the product is not classified (some are picture free zones, like on the artillery barrels) While some are trade secrets, like on the flame spray booths. I will work on the ones that are not secrets, thanks. I just worked on in line electric motor testing, and a clean room problem in medical manufacturing (FDA over reach), and both should work for testimonials. I set up a custom Printed Circuit Board repair line that might work also.

The lean is a powerful tool, that I get calls for occasionally. The last time I was pulled in for that it was a small business that makes displays for retail businesses. I was able to cut their cost and lead time just about in half, with basic lean principles. There was a lot more I could have done, but they were happy, and their delivery crunch was solved. Sometimes I am forced to leave a job half done....

I have several dozen patents, and used to make patient monitoring gear. We made the very best there was!

Well it looks like I will be allowed one decent reply, or two very short replies a day before my account runs dry. Still stunned at the loss! Oh well....

:'(

Well it looks like you changed the medical spelling but didn't know there was an alternative spelling to "discuss" (deiscuss?)

Yea I understand a lot of companies have NDAs so you can't get photos but even just a quick review would help greatly I think. Just my ideas, kick them in to the grass if you feel it's not right 🙂

Sounds like you work on a wide variety of interesting and cool projects. I did a few business process improvement projects in my time and in-lining was one of them, makes a big difference.

My amount of comments available has gone up each day so just be patient and I think it will be ok squire 🙂
