What is This Thing Called Steemit?! Introduction to ME ; )

Here I am, once again (or just like always, if you listen to my wife!), sitting in front of the computer trying to make something meaningful, but failing miserably. While watching some Supernatural, I was looking at my phone and thought about a friend of mine that posts here on Steemit. She recently cashed out some value/SD or whatever it happens to be called, and took an awesome vacation, fully funded by her earnings here. Well, here I am...wishing I was on vacation/or that I could make money from home...trying to find a way to support my kids while successfully homeschooling them at the same time. This is tough when both spouses need to work...oh, right...I didn't mention the fact that I have five kids, did I? Three beautiful young ladies, and a couple of debonair young gentlemen. My children are my life. I live to enable them to grow strong and beautiful, to become..."good people"...whomever they wish to be in life. I strive to awaken ambition in each of them, to give them motivation to succeed in life.

So, here I am...wondering what this thing called Steemit is. Wondering how Steemit can help me to provide substance, and motivation...ambition...everything I can to help them. Can Steemit help to support school curriculum and keep my children out of schools designed to indoctrinate them, to brainwash them? Help to keep them out of day cares that don't actually care....

I am really hoping to find the answers in comments to this. I am hoping to find out what you are all interested in. I want to know what I can help you with, so that you can help me ; )
