What is the first thing that you do when you open your eyes to the new day?

Think about that for a sec... the next few minutes are going to change the outcome of your day whether you know it or not.

Everybody imagines having great changes occur in their life such as getting promoted, buying their dream car, meeting their soulmate, etc. , etc. The lists go on and on.
However, how can big changes happen if the habits that you have remain the same?

I bring this to you today to share the experience that I had when I was at rock-bottom. Just to get share a little bit about myself I am a recent college graduate that lives in upstate New York currently unemployed and came out of a three-year relationship. It is so crazy to see your life flash by without a moment's notice. So much can change for the better or the worst instantly. I am sure you have all had your own events in your life that dictate how you live and perceive the world.

You may be able to get the details of my life and what was going on later on, however, I am here to share the mindset, the framework, the perspectives that I learned to get out of the hole that I dug myself in and reflect the habits that successful people have and have had in the past.

There is a great quote by Issac Newton, "If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants". YES, we are all unique in our own ways but we do not need to strain our creativity on the fundamental ways of thinking that have been placed by great men and women of our past. That is what it means to stand on the shoulders of giants.. to build on top of things that already work.. to not have to build another wheel.

All the topics that are going to be touched upon in the next series of posts cannot go without complementing each other. You may not agree with everything that is going to be said but at the least, take them into consideration. With each new perspective, you can add it to your arsenal.

60 days is what we are aiming for. There are going to be different opinions on how long it takes to form a habit but for now, that is all white noise. Our goal together is to change the smallest of habits to have great changes in our lives.

Howard White, the Vice President of Jordan Brand, once spoke to my high school soccer team. He has been one of the oldest individuals to follow Michael Jordan throughout his career and is responsible for "helping Jordan take flight" and taking the Jordan brand to its iconic status. He shared the habits and the drive Michael Jordan had that stood him out from the rest and challenged my team and me the same thing I bring you today.

Open your eyes to the new day... Jump up out of bed
AND...

Make your bed.

"Small actions such as making your bed can go a long way toward a successful life" - Howard White
