Gridcoin rewards users for doing scientific computations via BOINC. Volunteers have been doing these computations for years even before Gridcoin. I personally predict Gridcoin's price will explode in 2018 due to the large existing user base for BOINC, which has hardly even begun to be tapped.

Gridcoin (GRC) benefits from having a unique concept; it's not "just another alt coin". I'm supportive of any coin that appeals to a specific audience with clear goals (science!) and agree with long-term growth.
