Greeneum Ecosystem Members and Their Functions
Introduction
The Greeneum project has several significant members of its ecosystem that perform peculiar functions. Each of these members plays a crucial role that enables the smooth and seamless operation of the Greeneum network.
They include:
Producers
These are the energy generators within the network. National and major energy suppliers, which may be private or public farms, belong to the producers within the Greeneum network, and are identified as nodes and are equal players.
Consumers
These members consume the electricity generated by the producers and serve as the link between the producers and the validators. Their connection with these other members enables them to receive the generated power and validation of the source of the energy they use. They are also prosumers within this member group, who produce and consume the energy produced.
Validators
For every transaction performed on the Greeneum network, the validators are involved. They are concerned with monitoring and executing the computational process of the validation of all energy transactions. The validation process involves the enlisting of the energy source to green, as well as the verifying of the energy amount. Greeneum uses a developed a highly reliable and secure AI machine-learning algorithm to automatically validate transactions.
Grid Operators
These transmission system operators are assigned the role of transmitting the generated electrical power, using a constant infrastructure, on a national or regional level. The transmission of the produced electricity starts from the generation plants and moves over the electrical grid to the local or regional electricity distribution merchants.
Electric Power Distribution
The members in this group within the Greeneum project are responsible for the final stage transmission of electric power. Their function concerns the delivery of power from the transmission system to private consumers. They are often referred to as Utilities.
Distribution System Operator (DSO)
These are active members of the Greeneum project charged with the role of securely creating and operating a dynamic distribution system. This system will consist of energy networks, demands from consumers, generation from producers, and other relevant distributed energy resources. DSOs will be responsible for enabling competitive access to emerging markets and proffer an exceptional use of DER on the distribution networks to implement security, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in the backing of the entire system improvement. DSOs’ functions allow customers to function as both producers and consumers, as prosumers. They assist customers to access networks and varied markets, different consumer options, and excellent customer service.
Energy Traders
These members of the Greeneum ecosystem operate as investors in the network. Usually, energy traders perform investments in the industry depending on demand and supply, as well as trading insights and forecasts.
Data Sharers
For situations when there is no trading of generated energy, energy merchants and customers within the energy market can transfer energy data to the network through the Greeneum platform. Members of the Greeneum platform who function as data sharers receive Greeneum token bounty when they share certificates and data.
Data Traders
These members function as entities that purchase verified and unverified energy associated data through the Greeneum platform. They often serve as authenticators of the data.
Greeneum Market
Entities within the platform that perform the function as purchasers of certificates, forecasts, and energy management systems.
