A good question. It's also possible that they are borne of a superstition. According to this brief history, the first record of scarecrows being used is in ancient Eguypt, so they've been around awhile. Whether they work or not, they're still pretty interesting and a good exercise in creativity!

It's part of the whole fun of gardening hahah

I'm guessing it do really work though ...They scare crows hahaha
