Nice story ! Remembered me about 2010 when a friend discovered bitcoin and he show me. I was so excited about it and right away I decided to sacrifice my euros which I made working abroad.
In about two months I sent him about 300 euros to buy graphics cards for mining. Everything was amazing for about one month , we earned like 32 BTC (yeah, no joke) but after that he decided to plug off the equipment because in his room was to hot :-|
I told to everyone about bitcoin but they weren't so interested in that time.. I'm sure they regret now :)
Oh wow, at least you got to the point of actually mining. The only thing that stops me from mining is the heat. I am sure they regret just like I regret not buying at $11.
