Create a new project in the UTM Geomaps application with a name and description

First, I installed the UTM Geo Map application from the Play Store since it wasn’t already on my phone. Thanks to Mr. @soywilfredg for recommending such a useful tool.

One feature I found particularly impressive was its ability to work offline, making it extremely convenient for areas with limited connectivity. But let’s get back to the task at hand.

I launched the UTM Geo Map app and navigated to "Map Coordinates." From there, I moved to the "Project" section, ready to create something new. I decided to name my project "Hamad Khan," which happens to be my real name, and gave it a simple description.

With just a few taps, my project was successfully created, and I couldn’t help but feel a small sense of accomplishment. It was a straightforward yet satisfying process, and now I’m ready to explore the app further and put it to good use.

Take at least 4 points (on offline GPS) of places of your choice (they can be stores, squares, shopping centers, cafes, parks, museums, schools, whatever you prefer) and at each point you take, you must additionally take a photograph with your phone (If possible, you must appear in at least 2 of the photographs in those places)

Alright, let’s get to it! To make the most of this experience, I decided to push beyond the required four points and tried out more spots to really test the app. My first stop was the petrol pump, a place I visit regularly but never thought I’d mark on a map. Next, I took a point at my home spot—because, why not? It’s where the magic happens!

Moving on, I marked my uncle’s home spot, which always feels like my second home. I didn’t stop there, though. I also marked a spot opposite our home, just to mix things up. Oh, and let’s not forget the mosque spot—it’s one of the most peaceful places to tag on my list.

As per the rules (and the fun!), I made sure to take two photos where I proudly made an appearance. I’ve already sent those to you, Mr. Tutor 😜, on Telegram—sorry, couldn’t resist the little bit of fun there.

In your opinion, is it important to know how to use a GPS? Why?

I chose them because they hold a mixture of personal and practical meaning for me. My home spot, of course represents comfort and where all of my daily routines begin and end.

The petrol pump, is a place of necessity—without it, I wouldn't get far literally! My uncle's home spot holds sentimental value, a place where I have spent countless hours with family, good food.

More a random choice, the spot opposite our home is nonetheless part of the daily scenery I see and appreciate. The mosque spot represents peace and reflection; it's the place I go to pretty regularly to find some calm amidst the chaos of life.

So while some of the choices were practical, others were deeply personal, so there's a meaningful mix of spots on my map.

Now that you know how to use a GPS, in what circumstances do you plan to use it?

Yes Now that I know how to use a GPS, I can think of a lot of situations where it will come in handy. First off, I am definitely going to use it when I travel to new places. Whether it's finding a hidden cafe or reaching a scenic park, GPS will make sure that I don't wander around like a lost tourist!

Another fantastic use will be for adventures such as hiking or road trips. I can mark where I start and never need to worry about getting lost in the woods. Also, it is always entertaining to see exactly where you have been when the adventure is over.

I could also use it to locate stores or gas stations when I’m in unfamiliar areas. It’s a lifesaver for quick errands without wasting time asking random people for directions.

On a more personal level, I’ll use it to keep track of special places that hold memories. For example, tagging spots where I’ve celebrated birthdays or visited with friends. It’ll be like creating a map of my own little world.

Lastly, I can show off it to friends. Who does not love showing the world he knows "exact coordinates" at will? GPS isn't just a tool. It's a game changer.

kind Regards
