Surviving on human flesh!

Crazy? But true.
During October of 1972, A rugby team of Montevideo Uruguay wanted to fly to Santiago. But due to heavy rain they couldn't take that route but considering the alternative dangerous route, they took it, In the passengers were the team, few medical professionals, and family members of few of the teammates.
By now, you must have understood that the story is about a plane crash. Indeed it happened, but the fact that many of the passengers were not dead due to it but were struck in the left over part of plan and snowy hilly terrain. For weeks they survived without any help but slowly and steadily they ran out of food stock, considering the fact that they may die out of hunger they tried eating so many filthy things from the leftover furniture of the plane. but the idea stricken them to eat the human flesh, they denied for a very long time but this was the only alternative left.
They did! yes, as there were many dead bodies left so they ate human flesh out of it which sounds to be extremely gross but they did.
Later two of them hiked a nearly impossible terrain without equipment and reached the other side and seeked help.
Henceforth those people were rescued.
The received a lot of appreciation for surviving such a bad condition but later when people discovered about the human flesh thing, those survivors received lot of backlash as well.
