First LGBTQ Pride Parade Coming to Aurora, IL in 2018
DailyHerald.com is reporting that the city of Aurora, IL, the most populated city in Illinois after Chicago, is going to get its very own LGBTQ pride parade.
The effort to bring a pride parade to Aurora was spearheaded by the group Indivisible Aurora, whose founder and executive director, Chuck Adams, stated the parade was more about floats, but about making members of the LGBTQ community in Aurora know that they are welcome in the city.
The Government Operations Committee voted 2-0 to approve the necessary permits.
Individual citizens and representatives from local faith groups expressed concerns that a pride parade might bring nudity or unlawful behavior - because they're fucking idiots who obviously don't know how parade permits work.
Message to the fucking idiots - parade permits don't allow nudity or unlawful behavior. This wasn't a hearing for a nudity permit or unlawful behavior permit. If you see nudity or unlawful behavior at ANY parade in Illinois, I'm pretty sure you're within your rights to report it. Otherwise, shut up and enjoy the fucking floats.
