La pizza

Cuenta la leyenda que en 1889 el rey y la reina decidieron hacer una visita a Nápoles y que en su estadía se aburrieron de la comida gourmet que era consumida por la realeza europea, por lo cual la reina llamó al cocinero más famoso y le ordeno que cocinara 3 pizzas.

La de ajo, marinara, no le gustó
La de anchoas, Napoli, tampoco
FINALMENTE, la que poseía tomate con mozarella y las hojas de albahaca le fascinó, así que decidió llamar esta pizza con su nombre, Margarita.

Este fue el comienzo de la pizza Margarita que en conjunto con otros ingredientes en Capri, pasó a ser otra receta destacada a nivel internacional, la pizza Caprese

Vale acotar que siendo una leyenda, tiene muchas versiones acerca de esta historia. Por una parte, se dice que hay una nota de agradecimiento por la reina, con sello real, que aún puede ser vista en la Pizzería Brandi y que confirma esta historia. Por otra parte, se dice que la pizzeria fue comprada por los hermanos Brandi, que en el intento de devolverle su antigua gloria, decidieron modificar la leyenda y vincularla con el restaurante y con su tío.

Sumamente interesante esta leyenda que vale la pena seguir investigando,pero lo que SI sabemos, es que ciertamente la pizza caprese tiene su origen en la bella Italia especificamente en Capri. Esta pizza es personalmente mi favorita, la combinación de sabores entre el queso mozzarella de bufala, el tomate y la albahaca es deliciosa. Aparte, el toque que le agrega siempre el orégano y el aceite de oliva es sencillamente indescriptible. Esta es la receta base, pero muchas familias le añaden aceitunas negras, queso rallado,almendras y hasta azúcar.

Como podran notar, AMO esta pizza, pero lo mejor de este día no fue solo la pizza, hay que darle crédito también a la compañía. Fue un día entre familia, pasaba mucho tiempo que no almorzábamos juntos y en verdad, lo extrañaba muchísimo. No hay nada como compartir con la familia y nada se compara a un tiempo con las personas que más amo y una muy buena pizza.

Extremely interesting this legend that is worth to do an investigation about it, but what we do know, is that certainly the caprese pizza has its origin in beautiful Italy specifically in Capri. This pizza is personally my favorite, the combination of flavors between buffalo mozzarella cheese, tomato and basil is delicious. Besides, the touch of oregano and olive oil is simply indescribable. This is the basic recipe, but many families add black olives, grated cheese, almonds and even sugar.

As you can see, I LOVE this pizza, but the best thing about this day was not just the pizza by itself, I have to give credit to the company too. It was a family day, it was a long time since we had lunch together and I really missed it a lot. There is nothing like sharing with the family and nothing compares to spending time with people I love the most and a very good pizza.
