The Leaves Have Fallen

My Husband and I have been working on clearing the leaves from several huge trees on our property. We have neighbors that border us and I feel guilty if my leaves blow over onto their yard. We wait until the trees are bare and start raking up the leaves

Usually we gather up all our leaves and spread them around our garden and bedding plants. However, this year we are bagging up all the leaves and I am turning our backyard garden into a lawn. With my art and writing I don't have the time to take care of our garden this coming year. I plan to do a bunch of shows, get my art out there and meet people!

Taking A Break From The Internet!

When I work on art I have to go off-line and limit my communication or I can't concentrate or sit still! If I disappear for a couple days you know I am painting.

The bag-limit here in Tulsa Oklahoma is 15 bags a week.

We have more than 12 bags of leaves!

My Husband and I make a perfect team. We rake the leaves onto a tarp and dump them behind a nice little plastic mesh fence so the wind cannot blow them away. I hold the bag and my husband bags up the leaves. We can finish 12 bags in an easy 30 minutes. I love this guy, he is so easy to work with.

I'm gleaning the last produce from our garden before I dig it up with a shovel and replant grass this coming spring.

Plus I've been working on several paintings and continuing my series of "Kitchen Art," black and white with a splash of color.

I don't cook from Friday to Saturday and that will be when I work and post on my writing series about the history of vaccines. I hope you all have a lovely Friday and Weekend!

great work with better intention to the neighbour to collect out off leaf.

That's just the side yard, we have a front yard with two trees, a side yard with a Huge maple tree and a backyard that was turned into a garden. The side yard makes a perfect holding area for all our leaves. The city will fine its residents if they don't keep their lawn mowed, weeds in check and rake up their fall leaves.

We have a work with leaves.

I wish I could leave them to cover the ground and feed the lawn and trees the way nature intended. But I don't want to annoy the city or my neighbors.

YOU ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!
a lot of territory - a lot of work!))

seems like you had lots of work :)

Yet another great article. Taking care of the garden during winter is one of the things that make me glad to be Kenyan. But I still like how beautiful the trees look in fall, when they actually change color. It's the perfect sight. I'm currently in Michigan for studies but due to travel back home in 2 weeks, so I've experienced the beauty of fall.

I can relate to you when it comes to concentration when painting. It happens to me when I'm coding, since I haven't done any art work for quite some time now. I tend to stay offline until I get work done. It gets a bit crazy sometimes where I end up forgetting to actually do other tasks, like eating. And the strange thing is, I'll only feel hungry once the work is done, but I always drink lots of water while I work.

Good luck with the painting. Looking forward to seing and reading more of your work.

wow can't wait for the new WIP nice updates :) great to see your blog

this kitchen art seems great from the start

@reddust. I always appreciate hearing when someone says that they are on a great time. I am glad that you think so highly of your husband.

My wife is the perfect teammate for me!

@sumatranate, there is nothing better tasting then a well aged wine <3

We have worked on becoming a team over the years. We have become closer as the years go on and I love our matured relationship, it's far more gratifying and sustainable than our first years of passion and pink colored eye glasses ;-)

I agree. My relationship with my wife keeps getting better. Matured (maturing) relationship is a great way to describe it!

@reddust,
Oh that's too much leaves have been fallen! Winter is coming nah!

Cheers~
