My dad had some shrews in his house for awhile, they were squeazing into the basement through a new hole that was made for a gasline. Not sure what type they were maybe Prairie Shrews but they were super fast and could go through a floor register from the furnace.

I have read of some shrews being more mouse like and "invading" houses. I'm happy the only ones that end up inside are brought in by our cat. He has a penchant for hauling live prey around and letting them loose in the house. I have found 2 live shrews inside thanks to him, and 1 dead one.
Yeah some cats are like that. lol
