Logo looks good for me. But if you're planning on going really professional I'd consider using another hoster for your homepage. For me advertising for a homepage kit on a site always looks a little unprofessional.
Thanks @vandaze. I greatly appreciate the feedback. We are starting up due to a small, environmentally-focused grant we received. Our budget is very small. Removing the Wix branding from the website is part of our future plans.
Depending on how much you do know about creating websites/html/javascript or how much time you are willing to invest you might want to look for a CMS like Joomla, Typo3 or Wordpress and invest small buck for a template there. Need's a little more time investment but even big players use typo3 for example.
