From my Garden
I had planted some fruit trees in my garden back home in Mumbai and now I see the fruits have started coming out. It's still going slow, and it's just 1 or 2 fruits but still I am happy that it's started. The Papaya tree is growing fast. I thought it would take 1 or 2 years for it to start giving fruits but it's just been 8 months and I already have fruits on it. Though they are not ready to be plucked as yet and still needs time to ripe up.
This is the current status of the Papaya tree. End of this month I plan to travel home to Mumbai and I am hoping by then they will ripen up and be ready to eat.
They are already ready to eat. Nothing more satisfying then consuming your own home grown foods.
Pomegranate has started coming up. I always wanted this tree in my garden, when I had planted it, everyone told me that the fruit will not grow here. I had some mix responses so I thought, I will take a chance. For a long time there was no action, but finally I can see it coming. They are very small, so let's see if they grow up or not and how big it can grow.
My caretaker keeps sending me my garden updates. As of now, he is the one who does the watering and maintenance part. Something that I miss the most doing it myself. I am planning to travel end of the month and I just cannot wait to see my garden. As of now, I can only see it on the video camera that I have set up in my garden and through pictures that the caretaker sends. The veggie season is now over, next month the monsoon sets and then for few months there will be nothing growing in the garden.
When I was building up my home, one thing was very clear for me that I need more outdoor space then indoors and everyone at my place was not very pleased with it. It was always my wish to have spacious garden area and have lots of fruits and veggies growing there. Finally my dream is coming true, the only hitch right now is that I am not staying there, which hopefully in a year's time will also be fulfilled. Life tells me in these ways that you do not get everything in life and for somethings you need to have patience.
