How To: World of Tanks game review #3

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

In the previous review I´ve begun to discuss about the tank crews.

The first thing you should know is that every crew member has to reach 100% on their basic skill to be able to acquire additional skills, and that is what matters. For example, Commander has to reach 100% on his own skill as a commander, and then you can choose which next skill you want him to train first. When he reaches 100% on that, you can choose another skill, and so on.
When you buy a tank, you can choose to pick up a basic crew that cost nothing, then there is a 20 000 silver per member worth crew that has a 75% basic skill trained, and there is a 200 gold per member worth crew that has a 100% basic skill trained and you can assign them to train new skill immediately.
So, basically, if you wish to spend real money (gold), you can have better crew from the start. For those of you who don´t mind spending some money on free-to-play game, it will cost you about $1 per crew member, and in that case, my advice to you is to pay for that crew in tier 1 tank (at the beginning of the tank line), and transfer them to another tanks in line as you progress. In that way, you will get the most for your investment.

Note #1: You may have to add some crew members along the way, as for example, tier 1 tank has 3 crew members, and tier 2 tank, has 4 of them. After tier 5 tank, that should not be the case anymore.

Note #2: As you progress, in the moment of transfer your crew to a higher tier tank, they will lose percentage of their basic skill, but they won´t lose additional skills. Prices mentioned above apply the same to this case. For example, if you don´t want them to lose anything, then you have to spend another ~ $1 per crew member, or if you want them to be at ~ 90% of a basic skill, it will take 20 000 silver (in game currency) per member.

Note #3: Every crew member can learn only specific additional set of skills according to their basic role (i.e. Commander can be trained for Sixth sense, but not for off-road driving), but some of the additional skills are available for all crew members, like Repairs, for example.

My advice to you is, if you don´t want to spend real money like myself, to choose 20 000 silver option. It´s a best buy.

Additional skills
For additional skills, (after they are trained 100% on a basic skill) you should choose skill repairs for every crew member, regardless of what tank class is in question. When they are on 100% on repairs skill, you take only Commander, and retrain his repairs skill to sixth sense skill (prices mentioned above still apply).

Sixth sense skill is a very important one, and allows your Commander to detect when your tank is spotted by the enemy tanks. This crew skill gives you very valuable information, so that you can act accordingly, because, if you are spotted by the enemy, be sure that they will shoot at you. And you don´t want that, you want to be the one that takes the first shot.

In conclusion, crew member skills should be different for a different tank class, and that is something I will talk about in the next post.

Wish you all good games, and stay tuned @tirke.

Of course, it will be explained in the future posts.
