Monster Hunter World - Beginner Tipps
Monster Hunter World is not a shallow game: crafting, weapon types, monster resistances - there is a lot to consider in order to kill those monsters.
Patience: The standard 50-minute time limit that is usually available for a mission is not unreasonable. Even the first monsters, like the Kulu-Ya-Ku or the Grand Jagras, are tough beasts that will cost you at least twenty to thirty minutes, if nothing goes wrong!
That's why it's even more important to never get impatient. With frantic actions or bad assaults, you can achieve next to nothing, and the other way around you run the risk of being overrun by the monster. Every fight in Monster Hunter World is like a trial of patience, especially when you're on your own.
Drinking potions takes time: One of the most important aids include the healing potions. Thanks to them, nothing is lost when a monster hits you witha big swing. However to use a potions you have to put away your weapon and beyond that wait for a few seconds.
During the drinking process you are only allowed to move slowly. You can jump if necessary, however you will break the drinking process and waste some of the healing potion. Antidotes are even worse! They only work if you drink them completely. If you stop too soon it won’t cure you.
Use monster wars: In most jobs you only have to kill one monster, but a lot of other monster wait in the jungle. Most of the time you can trigger a war between them and watch them kill each other.
Getting to know your Weapons:
Stamina is designed to prevent you from wildly executing the most powerful attacks every second. This also applies to running or dodging roles in Monster Hunter World. However, do not lose stamina in your attacks. So you can hit the monster with your sword as often as you like and then you're still fit enough to dodge responsively. The few exceptions are for pounding attacks that make you waver during your attack.
In Astera you have a separate room where you can ask your housekeeper Palico for a training session in which you can try all the weapons. Use this area!
Already completed main orders available as subcontracts: All main orders can only be completed once and are then blocked. However with optional order you can still fight the same monster again under the same conditions. They appear for almost every completed main order!
