Good thing your search was successful and you found that all-important Molotov Cocktail. Had you found a zombie and needed to fight it, that could have held you back long enough for the zombie hoard to block your exit. I believe that is why all the others chose to pass the car and run straight for the dumpster. However, as long as the mob never actually catches you, you now have the ability to slow them down for a day or even burn a batch of them into crispy critters with that Molotov. You need to be very strategic though, because your range for throwing is just 1 space, yet the runners advance 2 spaces each turn!
