The revolution of Cryptogaming

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

Dapps also known as decentralized applications have been making a giant splash in the cryptocurrency community.

First with the creation of cryptokitties back in December. And now a new wave of games seem keen to overtake the past king.

These games offer a chance for some serious gains and with the market stagnant it seems to be alluring to many individuals.

Over the past week and a half, cryptocelebrities has blown the sky with its popularity and earnings. A trading card game where favorite celebrities get traded, often for some serious profit.

In fact, I saw firsthand the outrageous growth the game had in its first full week of beta. The floor was constantly moving, with the cheapest celebrities costing a meager 500$. When I had decided to make my move the floor had already raised another hundred. Unfortunately I missed the bandwagon by a sheer ten minutes, I took a shower and lost the chance to buy the floor.

If you're like me and missed your chance to enter into this goldmine than a future update may help to alleviate fears. The team behind cryptocelebrites plans to add a Korean version of the game, bringing with it korean players.

It further plans to add the ability for many individuals to purchase a single card. A true game changer, the more money people put into a card the more percentage of the sale they will get if sold.

Finally, the game may also blow up further if the celebrities whose cards are traded decide to endorse the game.

Another notable game that tries to follow in the steps of cryptokitties more closely is Ethertulips. Released on the 21st of January, it's a parody of the Tulip craze of the mid 17th century.

It has just released its gen 1 seeds whose worth increases by 51% each day. It plans to add a marketplace and its flagship feature, battles. The developers also have plans to have two main games modes, one would be the battles while the other would be a tower defense game.

Overall Ethertulips has gained solid ground in the Dapps arms race, and has great potential to pay homage to its source.

If you seem to be missing out on these new games, than perhaps D.world is worth a look into.

Released 4 days before the release of this article, D.world. has shown promising growth. Its discord chat even has the developer himself constantly taking feedback from the community.

The core gameplay of the game consist of plots of land that can be bought and sold. The developer is currently working on a massive update which will allow you to earn dividends on nearby plots of lands that are sold, turning metropolitan areas and the regions surrounding world wonders in to potential gold mines for everyone involved.

While cryptocurrencies themselves can be monitored with various websites and research can be done to pick what you think is the most worthwhile currency, Dapps are essentially unregulated and for the most part, are subjected to the impulses of the players. These games are no doubt high risk, but very high reward especially in this volatile market.

There is opportunity to be had however and I hope these sites can help in researching further into Dapps

Stateofthedapps is a comprehensive list of Dapp games in their varying states of production. These Dapps can range from concepts to live, playable games; with banners that show useful information like popularity and wallet support.

Opensea.io is an online auction house that allows users to buy and sell their collectibles at a much more customizable price than other exchanges, and in some cases, is the only exchange available.

Don't forget to show support by sharing and hitting the like button.

I have been involve in dworld.io since the beginning. It was very interesting discussing the gameplay with the developer. He then took suggestions from the discord group and made those changes based on that feedback.

The game is very different than the other games out there. Not only could you get money if your plot sells, but you will also receive dividends on any activity on surrounding plots. So, basically you have 9 shots at making money with 8 of them still allowing you to own the initial plot you bought.

I have already received dividends on several properties I own and it is awesome seeing your dividend balance grow.

I would definitely check it out - people can decide the price point they want to enter - it is quite inexpensive in comparison to the other games out there. And, it is just the beginning...
