Valve banned more than 40 thousand Steam accounts

For several years, Valve has not hesitated at any time in closing Steam accounts that register strange movements or whose owners use tools to cheat on various titles. As a sample, we have what happened recently, at the end of the summer. According to reports, the VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) anti-trap system banned nearly 40,000 Steam accounts.

This figure is quite large if we take into account that the security system bans about 3000 or 4000 accounts a day. On this occasion, the total of banned accounts was 40.411 at the end of June. The last time such a big wave of bans occurred was in October 2016, when Valve closed 15.227 accounts.

At the end of this period of great discounts, the most affected players were Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, who resorted to using various methods to gain an advantage. With this wave of bans, players lost exactly $ 8.674 USD in weapons skins.

When punished by the security system, players are restricted to connect to Valve servers, which makes all its content unusable on the platform. To make it worse, 4.972 accounts were banned within Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for the same reasons.

In related news, Steam has 33 million active users per day. On the other hand, Valve confirmed a redesign in the user interface of the platform.

Were you affected by this wave of bans? What do you think of the steps that Valve takes to improve Steam?

Leave me your point of view in the comments.

Great post ! and right choice of valve all the hackers and cheater ruining or gameplay especially in CS:GO I know about it I have played the game for some time but just quit playing because of all the cheaters and trash-talkers.

I am pleased to know that this kind of watchdog process in in effect and that action is being taken to clear out those who try to cheat the system. Thanks for keeping us all safe and honest @VAC

Something gained by cheats is not legally yours , so no players lost anything .
VAC is finally doing it's job , banning lame low live cheating hackers .

I wonder if there is a certain region in the world that has more bans than others ? ;-)

Nice to hear the data on the fact that Valve is actually trying to combat cheating.

Great post! Would you mind if I included it in today's "best of gaming"?
