My greatest achievements on RUNESCAPE

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

If you've seen my other posts you may have seen that I have been playing Runescape for a long time. From 2001-2009 I played a different account than I currently play - named Sneezingtree (cool name, right?) - and I'm currently playing on Hyph-n8d. So without further ado, here's what I consider to be some of my greatest achievements to-date on this silly game:

Sneezingtree

I'm most proud of my first ever notable achievement on Runescape which dates back to around the fall of 2003 back when RS was Runescape Classic. I think I was the 39th (or something around that) person to ever get 99 fishing. This achievement would change my entire approach to the game for the next 6 years. Fishing was my focus as I actually managed to maintain anywhere between the 11th and 21st rank in fishing (top page on the highscores) until I stopped playing in 2009! Unfortunately, this is the best screenshot I have which was taken shortly after leveling. The actual level was attained in Lumbridge at the fly fishing spot - the future site to all of my level 99 achievements in the future!

Let's jump to 5 years later on June 18th, 2009: I've now achieved 13 more 99's but none of them had been nearly as challenging as this one especially considering I was in college at the time. This skill was (and maybe still is) renowned as being one of the slowest and dreaded monotonous skills out there to train. However, I was determined to do it and it helped me gain a lot of profit. I trained the entire 91-99 stretch entirely on nature runes.

Next, back to fishing. Not too long after my level 99 runecrafting achievement I hit 50,000,000 fishing experience on July 18th, 2009. While I managed to get over 53 million experience before I stopped playing this account this still remains one of my proudest moments in the game. Afterwards, some honourable mention achievements include 2200 total levels, and 99 magic (my last 99).

Hyph-n8d

This is an interesting account for me. The experience of playing is entirely different considering the fact that, 1: I achieved so much on Sneezingtree in the past, and 2: I'm an adult with significantly more responsibilities in life that take priority over gaming. However, while less impressive overall, the game is just as enjoyable as back-in-the-day and I take just as much pride in these achievements.

The first achievement I've picked for Hyph-n8d is 85 slayer. I've chosen this as my top pick for Hyph because slayer is very slow for me to train as an Ironman account. I'm zeroing in on 90 slayer at the moment and hope to one day achieve 99 as well but hitting 85 for the ability to slay abyssal demons was a great moment on this account.

Next, I've picked my 100th hard clue because completing clues are probably my favourite thing to do in the game besides.. everything else. I suppose I could've waited a few days to post this blog because like slayer, I'm also zeroing in on my 200th hard clue now, but I'm doing it anyway! The first 100 flew by, and hitting triple digits was great. It's just too bad the loot couldn't have been better. :)

Last, while this 80 prayer + 1800 total level combination achievement is my most recent achievement, it's also the least significant in this list because while it's my highest total level benchmark to date, I'm also close enough to 2000 total that it just doesn't feel that impressive. Mind you, I'm still very happy with my progress so far and I'm looking forward to posting more in the near future.
