With little more than a thirty second teaser and virtually no additional details to work with, gamers are racking their brains to identify the location depicted in the Elder Scrolls VI announcement teaser. In case you missed it here it is:

So far there seems to be a lot of people under the impression that it is High Rock. The Northwestern most province in Tamriel and home to the Bretton's. Well, I just did a bit of research and I'm not certain of the location but I feel like I've narrowed it down as well as pinpointed reasons it doesn't appear to be High Rock. This is the description of High Rock:
"It is known that High Rock encompasses Greater Bretony, the Dellese Islands, and, by tradition the Western Reach. Its regional geography is varied. The forested peaks of the northern Wrothgarian Mountains are occupied mainly by Orcish tribes based in Orc Strongholds. The only truly cosmopolitan cities lie along the Iliac Bay, the enclosed body of water across from which sits Hammerfell. A number of kingdoms have prospered due to trade around the bay and up the Bjoulsae River, such as Wayrest. Inland, the countryside rises into the windswept plateau of North Kambria. This region is known for its many small villages and towns and for the many grim fortifications that dot the hills and crags around them. In the past, these castles were the domains of many petty kings and lords that ruled the massive patchwork of small nations that used to make up High Rock. Many of these fortresses are now in ruins, as the Empire has been demolishing them since the time of Tiber Septim to prevent them from being used as bases for future rebellion."

We are shown a fairly vast stretch of land and not a single "small village" or "grim fortification" is shown. And they are said to"dot the landscape". Next I'll point out that it is said to be varried geologically but is never mentioned as being barren of trees. I've watched the video repeatedly and while I may have missed some, I can only see a single tree in the entirety of the video. What place is known as being made up of Savannahs(treeless lands) and badlands? Elswyr, the home of the race of cat men known as Khajiit. Much more obvious than all that I'd like to point out that while we are never told that Nirn's(Nirn is the planet the games take place on) GeoCliamte is similar to that of earth we are led to believe by skyrim, and it's main DLC, that the farther north you travel the colder and by proxy snowier it gets. Forgive me if I'm wrong but the landscape depicted appears borderline tropical and High Rock sits as far north as Skyrim. My most coroborative piece of evidence as to why it's not as likely to be High Rock is a simple one.... they already had a game take place in High Rock. Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. It's not impossible to think the next game could be a return there but it just seems more likely that they would send us to an unexplored location instead. I still hope it's Elsweyr but no matter where it takes place it will surely be a game changer. Oh and if you're interested here is a map of Tamriel with red X's over each place we've already visited in previous games.(excluding Arena and ESO as they've both technically included the entirety of Tamriel.)

What an awesome logo! It reminds me of the newer fox hound logo from the Metal Gear Solid series only overlain on a sherrif's badge rather than a shield. Double cool on you my friend and thank you for the upvote.
