The semi finals game between Immortals and EnVision was not streamed so I was unable to watch that match. The good news is that Immortals win and like I expected Rogue win their games, both end up facing each other in the winners bracket finals. Winner of this match moves directly into the grand finals, loser goes down to loser bracket to play the winner of the loser bracket finals for a chance to come back into the grand finals. Also, there is a chance of these two teams facing each other again in the grand finals later today.

Let's jump into this match Immortals vs Rogue. I am highly looking forward to this match! Immortals have recently had a roster change bringing in two players from Korea, Kariv and Fate, giving Immortals a nice upgrade. Immortals just won the Contenders tournament proving they are once again a team at the very top of the ranks. Rogue at the top as well as the #1 team in NA and considered by some to be #1 in the world. This match is going to put both teams to the test giving us an awesome match to watch.

Immortals vs Rogue

Game 1 - Volskaya Industries
Rogue wins
*This map is a 2 capture point map (2CP). Offensive team fights to capture 1st point then 2nd while defending team tries to defend each point. The team with both pints captured wins. If both teams fail to do so the the team with the most progress will win. If both teams get both points then a second round is played with each team only given the time on clock that was renaming from the first round. *

Immortals start on offence with a dive comp running a Zenyatta. Rogue setting up their defensive dive comp with a Sombra. Kill for kill right away Unkoe getting Sombra' s EMP ult but with no follow up from Rogue. Immortals end up cap'ing first point quickly. Rogue holding strong on 2nd point with push after push from Immortals. Rogues Unkoe, one of the best Sombra players in the world, finds a way to get EMP for essentially every team fight. Immortals answering the Sombra ult pretty well. Keeping the fight very close it could go either way. Rogue end up holding 2nd point.

Switching now immortals on defence also showing the Sombra dive defence comp. Rogue Dive with Zenyatta and cap first point right away. Immortals setting up to defend 2nd point with Rogue pushing hard. Unkoe on Rogue switches back to Sombra from Zenyatta quickly getting the EMP shutting down Immortals defense cap'ing 2nd point for the win. Rogue 1-0 over Immortals.

Game 2 - Kings Row
Immortals win

Kings Row is a hybrid map. It starts off with a capture point then once the offensive team captures the first point they then have to escort a payload to two more points to finish the map. The defensive team is trying to prevent the offence from capturing the points.

Immortals start off with their traditional dive comp on offence. Rogue on defence with a dive comp as well but have an Ana as support. Immortals takes the first point on the first team fight of the game looking very strong and confident. Immortals then leave Verbo as the Lucio with the payload and the rest of the team jump way ahead to harass Rogue in their spawn. This gives immortals enough time to get the payload almost to second point. Rogue regains their composure and stalls immortals just before second point as the clock winds down. Immortals end up pushing through second point into 3rd point with a lot of momentum, cap'ing 3rd point to finish the map.

Switching sides now Immortals on defence. First point going to Rogue quickly. Very similar to the previous match Rogue pushed to just before 2nd point and Immortals sells them with strong defensive play. With multiple engages Immortals comes out on top even pushing Rogues payload back defending second point. Rogue not able to push through Immortals defences, Immortals wins the game. Series tired 1-1.

Game 3 - Dorado
Rouge wins

Dorado is a payload only escort map. The offence escorts a payload through 3 points to finish the map. The defence tries to stop the payload preventing the offence from reaching the 3 points.

Immortals on defence with their standard dive comp and Rouge is running a dive offence with a Pharah. Rogue engages right away with a quick 3 kill on Immortals. With immortals out numbered Rogue easily pushed the payload through first point. Immortals putting together some defensive play, Grimm switched from Soldier76 to Tracer, slowing Rogue down in second phase. It turns out to not be enough as Rogue caps 2nd point. Rogue moving the payload steadily getting stalled by Immortals at the end but Rogue end up cap'ing 3rd pint finishing the map.

Swapping sides now Immortals were on the payload. Grimm on Tracer flanking hard allows Immortals to push payload almost to second point. Rogues defensive play stops Immortals in their tracks. Going into overtime Immortals fighting to stay alive just can't push through Rogues defensive stance. Overtime runs out Rogue wins the game. Series now 2-1 Rouge.

Game 4 - Temple of Anubis
Rogue wins

Tempe of Anubis is a 2CP map

image

Immortals on offense with a dive comp and Kariv is running a Widowmaker. Rogue on defense with a Sombra, played by Unkoe, in a dive comp. Anubis has become one of the maps where we are seeing more and more teams running a Sombra with great success. Immortals Widowmaker is downed instantly by Rogue so they change to a Sombra as well. Immortals caps first point quickly into 2nd point. With both teams running Sombra this fight in second point now turns into the battle of the EMP. The team who gets EMP more often and the team who can defend against the EMP will win. Immortals offensive play is strong getting 2nd point all the way to 99.7% Rogue holds. Time running short Immortals trying to change it up Kariv switches over to Zenyatta from Sombra. Unkoe, a god Sombra, has EMP for every fight making it tough on immortals to finish. Final push by Immortals isn't enough, Rogue holds 2nd point.

Switching sides Rogue still running Sombra on offense this time. Immortals dive comp with an Ana defence. Rogue cap first point. Second point Rogue's AKM switches to.... Reaper? Immortals forcing a couple resets winning some team fights. EMP battle is very much alive as both teams are running Sombra. EMP into Reaper's Die Die Die is just too much for immortals to handle. Rogue caps 2nd point winning the game. 3-1 Rogue sends Immortals to the loser bracket.

If Immortals wins this next match in the loser bracket finals then Immortals and Rogue will meet back up in the Grand Finals.

I will be covering Immortals next match in the loser bracket finals.

Thanks for stopping by!
