From time to time, people from PlayStation add a really good game to the subscription collection, and this is definitely the best game. Mad Max is based on the original movie franchise, but I would say more at the 2015 restart of Mad Max: Fury Road with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. I vaguely remember seeing Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome when I was much younger, when I was still renting VHS movies from the video store.

Regardless of my dislike for the environment and the theme of the game, I surprisingly enjoy the vast desert land of the desert, probably for the first time in my life.

There is a strange beauty in this vast wasteland full of death and destruction, which really infuses the sense of lost hope as you explore. Mad Max is a balanced mix between role playing and driving, and your car or as it is called in the game, the Magnum Opus, is almost an extension of the character. One of the main objectives is to update your Magnum Opus to a tank like the state, which you will have to do to survive in this wild wasteland.

As with most post-apocalyptic games, it's about survival, and the three key elements you'll need are water, gas and salvage. Water is basically to maintain your health and sometimes you will find a can of dog food, which is a pretty decent meal in these parts. Then there is gasoline, which is necessary to keep the car running, fortunately it is not difficult to get it and most buildings or structures usually have some cans of gasoline scattered. Rescue is what you will need to build your car, from better weapons to more resistant armor, and do not forget what is under the hood. You will need to have a V8 engine in your hands to face what is out there.

The combat with vehicles also plays an essential role in this game. If you notice a car approaching from a distance, it is likely that they are looking for a fight. Make sure you destroy your opponent's vehicle before trying to approach on foot, I have been killed several times like that, I know, novice movement. The oil fields found everywhere are fortresses with many enemies and will require you to abandon your car and face enemies with only your fists. The ammo in the game is pretty hard to get, so when you find it, be sure to save it for the right occasion.
