A view to the past a game that frame the infatuation of many Fatal Fury
Today I come to present a classic forgotten by many the game of Fatal Fury is the Japanese Descent, is a series of fighting video games developed by SNK for the Neo-Geo system.
The producers of the series from Fatal Fury 3 are Takashi Nishiyama and Hiroshi Matsumoto, who were the designers of the first Street Fighter. Matsumoto is also the creator of the saga Art of Fighting, series with which he shares the same fictional universe.
The success of the saga has brought with it a large number of commercial products such as anime films (two OVAs and an animated film), sleeves and articulated dolls among many other items.
The protagonists, and unique characters playable in the history mode of the first Fatal Fury, are the brothers Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard and his friend Joe Higashi. Since the second part is established a system similar to Street Fighter II in which you can choose any character present in the game to combat. The main innovation of the Fatal Fury saga was the two-level combat system; the wrestlers could move in two different planes and this allowed to dodge attacks easily changing planes. This system was changing in different games of the saga from a system of momentary elusions to a plane, a system of three planes, or simply sometimes a system without planes in which when trying a change of plane the personage was wounded. Some combinations of movements or special movements are only possible by changing planes.
Another system present in some chapters of the saga is the one of limits of stage; these limits could be broken and caused the character to fall off the stage by losing the current round or leaving him unconscious and vulnerable to enemy attacks momentarily.
The last chapter of the saga incorporated the system "Just Defend" that is a type of blockade with which the player returns to gain some life, does not affect the wear of the blockade and allows to counterattack before.
The story of the saga focuses on Terry Bogard and the fall of the empire of Geese Howard. Like other SNK titles of the era, the first title of the series takes place in the fictional South American city of South Town, full of violence and corruption, it is the ideal site for the annual King of Fighters fight tournament organized by the Chief of Crime Geese Howard. No fighter had beaten his right-hander Billy Kane until Terry presented himself to the tournament. After a final fight against Geese Howard in which he falls from the top of his building he is presumed dead. The second part Geese's half-brother, Wolfgang Krauser returns to do another tournament to be able to fight the man who had defeated Geese. From the third installment King of Fighters becomes a separate saga with its own history and here focuses on the attempts of Terry Bogard to stop Geese from obtaining some old rolls that would give him the powers of a lost and dangerous martial art .
The next installment is renowned Real Bout Fatal Fury and counts the final showdown between Terry and Geese.
The last chapter of the saga is Garou: Mark of the Wolves, set years in the future and carried out by Rock Howard, Son of Geese Howard and adopted by Terry in which it discovers its past to enter the martial arts tournament.
